Cycling route Salacgrīva - Veczemju cliffs

A route full of landscapes and cultural history will take you from Salacgrīva to the magnificent Veczemju cliffs. The route is about 25 km one way.
Starting your cycling trip from Salacgrīva, follow the 101 cycle route signs, which will take you through the Lauteri forest all the way to Meleki Bay, where you can take a leisurely ride and enjoy the beautiful landscape, peace and tranquillity of the rocky seaside. There is a well-equipped campsite near the magnificent Veczemju or Mantiņi cliffs, where you can relax.

The route includes:

- Salacgrīva Museum;
- Svētupe lamprey weir (August-February);
- Lāņi Manor;
- Vitrupe estuary;
- Kutkaju boulder;
- Vidzeme stony seashore and Veczemju cliffs;

Association boat

A fishing boat donated to the town by fisherman Visvaldis Šrenks in November 2006 is on display at 10 Rīgas Street, Salacgrīva. European Union regulations prevent our fishermen from developing their fishing industry. On the contrary, it has to be reduced. Visvaldis had a choice: give the boat to the city for non-profit use outside the fishery or give it to be scrapped. Visvaldis chose the first option. read more ››
