Limbaži Museum
The exhibition halls and history exhibition of the Limbaži Museum are located in the newly built Riga Town Hall in the early 19th century, also known as the Castle Manor Administrator's building, at Burtnieku Street 7. Here, visitors can explore the exhibition "Baumaņu Kārlis and His Time," dedicated to the author of the national anthem of Latvia, as well as the core exhibition "Perpetuum Mobiles. The Cultural and Historical Processes and Economic Life of the Town and Region of Limbaži." The museum regularly delights visitors with a variety of traveling exhibitions and exhibitions created by museum staff in two changing exhibition halls. Museum guests can also find the "Saloniņš" shop, offering handcrafts and city souvenirs.
Interested visitors have the opportunity to explore the nearby ruins of the Limbaži medieval castle, which holds historical significance as the castle was once one of the residences of the Archbishop of Riga. The castle gate tower is unique in Latvia, as its entrance portal retains fragments of the one-of-a-kind gate with a lifting grate construction.

Ships, cliffs, people, buildings, landscapes painted in pastel tones—motifs seemingly from fairy tales, reminiscent of Flemish painting… A veiled world emanates from the wall paintings in the attic floor of this house. These were once commissioned by a certain Braunšveigs, about whom little is known, yet thanks to the homeowner's refined taste, his name is often mentioned here. Today, these wall paintings are recognized as a nationally significant art monument.

In the middle of the Burtnieku quarter, you can see the "Gates of Love and Friendship" made by silver sculptor Oļegs Auzers. One side of the Gates of Love symbolizes the masculine side, featuring oak branches, oak leaves, and acorns. The other side of the Gates of Love, which shows apple leaves and apple blossoms, symbolizes the feminine side. At the request of the newlyweds, there is an opportunity to order and hang a brass leaf with words and a lucky date.
