Munchausen Forest Trail

The longest aspen boardwalk in Europe. The path is located in the North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve and leads through the Vidzeme marsh forest, which is the only protected nature area of its kind in Latvia. The path is supplemented with various objects and figures related to the theme of Baron Munchausen.

The forest trails come in 3 different lengths for different hikers:

  • The short trail is 1.1 km;
  • The medium trail is 3 km;
  • The long trail is 4.4 km.

The long trail leads all the way to the sea, where you can enjoy the beauty of the Vidzeme coastline.
