A hidden retreat surrounded by forest, wild meadows, and silence. Fully renovated yet intentionally simple, "Induli" offers running water, a shower, a wood-fired sauna, and a natural swimming pond.

Just 15 minutes from the Baltic Sea (Salacgrīva), this carefully preserved 19th-century farmhouse is completely off-grid, with no neighbours in sight.

No luxury, no distractions — just nature, solitude, star-filled skies, and the rare experience of being truly alone.

Simplicity is not for everyone.

About the House

Originally built around 1890 as a farmhouse, this architectural relic has been restored with restraint and care.

Unlike many rural homes lost to over-renovation or neglect, the Retreat House retains its original character while integrating selected elements of contemporary design and art.

In 2019, it was featured in the exhibition “The Estate” at Riga’s contemporary art centre Kim?

The house is furnished with a blend of historical pieces and contemporary objects, ideal for those who appreciate art, design, and the rhythms of nature, and who are ready to forgo certain urban comforts.

The Retreat House Includes

• Main house with two bedrooms, a living room with sofa bed, and kitchen
• Bathroom with sink and shower (cold water only, supplied directly from the natural pool)
• Traditional barn with a dining area
• Rustic wood-fired sauna house
• Natural pond for swimming
• Outdoor dry toilet
• BBQ and outdoor dining tables

Things to Do

• Sunbathe, read, and enjoy the sauna, followed by a dip in the pond
• Pick mushrooms or berries in the surrounding forest
• Swim in lakes or the nearby sea
• Hike the swamp trail and climb the observation tower for panoramic views
